With the FA Cup about to be unleashed on the new Stadium, we take another look around the ground. The focus of attention is the new East Stand where work continues.
TreesSeveral trees outside the new Main Stand have been chopped down. It seems that those that have been felled were unsafe (rotten), so the Council gave the go-ahead for their removal.
Pitch
The peace before the excitment of the FA Cup game against Unibond premier League side Worksop.
East Stand
From the front the East Stand has not changed much in appearance.......
From the other side of the pitch, the main difference can be seen at the back of the stand - the cladding at the top is being filled in.
But is not totally complete as can be seen at the far end of the East Stand (adjacent to the North Stand).
But behind the stand you can see the real state of completion!! Far from it still, but is still due for completion in time for the
Tranmere Rovers game on December 1st.
In the part of the stand that extends out from the main part of the East Stand will be the new facility for the Supporters Club.
With all the building materials and moving equipment not too far away. Note the white building towards the right of the picture denotes the old meeting point for the stewards, which used to be adjacent to the old Brighton Beach entrance. In fact you can still see an old turn stile to the left of the white building!!
