News stories are filtering out that Carl Fletcher is about to be leaving Dean Court for a Coca Cola Championship side.

BBCi is reporting that West Ham United have signed Carl Fletcher in a deal for £250k. Speaking on BBCi, West Ham boss Alan Pardew is quoted as saying that: "He is a Welsh international and we have got what we feel is a fantastic deal for him. He can play two roles, in midfield or as a defender, and he is a very good passer - but most importantly of all, he is a leader and a character. We have been tracking him for eight or nine months".

And in the Echo, Captain Marvel was also said to be linked with Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, and Cardiff City.

Speaking in the same article, our own Chairman is quoted as saying that: "We would have liked to have got more, but we have to accept the reality of the marketplace. This was by some distance the best deal we could do - other offers came in at £100,000 and £150,000. But Carl is out of contract at the end of the season and would have walked away for nothing".

The news should come as no surprised given the current financial situatioin at Dean Court and the need to find funds to pay the Inland Revenue and other dangerous creditors.
