Bond Under Pressure

Speaking to the Bournemouth Evening Echo, the Cherries Chairman, Jeff Mostyn is quoted as saying: "I can assure you that nobody at the club is more disappointed with our poor start to the season than I am. We have only achieved one win in our first nine games - this is unacceptable by any standards. I am not prepared to insult anyone by offering excuses for the team's performance on the pitch. I have made it quite clear that the manager, his coaching staff and the players have to take full responsibility for the recent results and, more importantly, take full responsibility for getting the club out of its current predicament. The pressure is on everyone at the moment, most of all the manager. I had a long meeting with Kevin Bond to discuss the situation and he is fully aware of the current sentiments and the pressure he is under. He is also aware that, if we had a near full complement of players to choose from, there would be absolutely no excuse for the club's current position. Kevin has therefore asked me to make a judgement over the next few weeks on the team's performance with the hopeful return of one or two players. I am not afraid to make what I believe is the right decision for the club".
