Speaking on BBCi, manager Kevin Bond, was quoted after the match as saying: "In the situation we're in, any win's a good win, but I thought the lads performed really well. James Henry has got a bit of pace and unpredictability, and I thought both his goals were good finishes. Alex Pearce knew he would have plenty of defending to do when he came here, and he relished the challenge".

Darren Anderton was quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "It was a good, solid performance and, defensively, we were great. It was probably the most comfortable we have looked all season. They had one good chance when the striker profited from a lucky bounce but we got into some good areas in the second half and could have buried them. But it's only one performance and will be no good to us unless we can follow it up in the coming weeks, which is something we haven't been able to do this season. We can say we've been unlucky or whatever, but the truth of the matter is that we are where we are and we've got to put it right".

Speaking of the loanees from Reading: "The new lads came in and both did very well. It's not easy coming in on loan and trying to adjust straight away. I think a lot of it is down to the group, the players who are already here. I know what it was like when I came in and they all helped me settle very quickly. You've only got to look at Jem (Karacan). He's been here a fortnight and it's as if he's been here for a couple of years. That is a credit to him and also to the lads who are here".
