Sean O'Driscoll summed things up quite nicely when he was quoted as saying: "It was always going to be difficult with 11 players, so going down to 10 made it harder still. Hull are an excellent side, and once they scored, we had a huge task on our hands to get back into the game".

Peter Taylor for Hull City was understandably delighted with the away win, citing an "an outstanding away performance". He went on to say: "This was an outstanding away performance and our last two away games have brought out the best in us, Bournemouth started well but after our first goal we took control. We scored some very good goals at very good times and I'm delighted with the three points. That's the most important thing".
