With Charlton Athletic, Crystal Palace and Burnley chasing the services of Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall, the Cherries Chairman admits that he's in a no-win situation where the pair are concerned.
Eddie Mitchell is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "Eddie and Jason are both prize assets and we are desperate for them to stay with us. Other clubs want our manager because he is very good at what he does and I fully understand the interest. Although they are under contract, I would always pass on details about any approaches. I have asked Eddie to stay, I would have been stupid not to. He is the best manager outside the Premier League. He is his own man and will do what is best. Like everybody in life, you’ve got to look after number one first. I can only tell him how I feel and I have done that. My advice was to stay with us, see out his contract and wait for bigger clubs to come in and then look at it. I have done everything I can. There are always situations in life when people will take stepping stones. If this is the one Eddie decides to take, I hope he makes a success of it but don’t want him to go. It’s his decision. If he decided to go, I would wish him all the best and if, as I hope he will, he decides to stay, I will give him all the support I can".
