Manager Lee Bradbury is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo on his new signing as: "I am delighted to be at Bournemouth. It is a good club with good players and I am really happy to be here. I have kept myself fit and I feel good and ready to play. I played for the reserves this week and I felt that went okay, and I am looking forward to playing in the first team. I will do my best for the club and help Bournemouth climb the table and, hopefully, repeat what the club achieved last season. He was one of the outstanding players in the Plymouth team last season. He is versatile and can play as a right-back or centre-half. He was a handful against us and it is good to have him on board. It is good timing for us with the number of injuries we have and it is a boost for the squad. It gives us more strength in depth and gives healthy competition".

His previous manager, Peter Reid, is quoted as saying: "He did terrifically well for me last season and I was desperate for him to sign. Because of the situation at Plymouth when I was manager, with regards being paid, the lad had forgone a lot of money in Romania and felt he just couldn’t do it any more. We agreed by mutual consent to let him go, but it was a blow for me because he is a good character and he is a good player. I am delighted he has got a football club like Bournemouth where he can, hopefully, get settled in his mind – because it was affecting him – and he can just concentrate on playing good football. He has got a bit of pace about him so I think he will do a good job for Bournemouth. He is a good athlete but he is a good character as well. It is a great opportunity for him. He played everywhere for me, through the circumstances. He can play as a right-back or centre-half – no problem".
