PlayerShare Success!!

The Playershare Corporate Player Sponsorship package gives supporters the chance to ‘own’ their favourite player for the season with all the proceeds going straight into O’Driscoll’s transfer kitty.

Playershare has played a crucial role in Cherries’ on-field success since its inception two years ago allowing O’Driscoll to bolster his squad at vital times of the campaign.

Following his side’s stunning Division Three play-off success in 2003, the Cherries boss admitted that promotion would not have been possible without Playershare’s help.

The new Playershare package provides sponsors with an extensive variety of exciting hospitality and advertising opportunities as well as guest appearances from their player and his numbered shirt signed and framed.

Amongst many other business focused benefits sponsors will be able to reserved places for two children on one of the club’s superb Football In The Community soccer schools.

O’Driscoll said: “Playershare has given the opportunity for supporters to directly help the club improve the quality of players at its disposal.

“The scheme has been professionally run under the chairmanship of Adrian Kelley and his executive committee. Its inception has been greatly appreciated by everyone at the football club.

“The Playershare Corporate Player Sponsorship, if successful, in the short term will undoubtedly enhance the current scheme in so much as it will generate extra funds at an important time of the season.

“The long term benefits however, could prove more fruitful as it begins to foster long continuing relationships with the local business community.”

Playershare’s Adrian Kelley said: “Playershare has worked extremely well over the last two seasons but the one loophole was that we were always likely to be short of funds at the start of any season.

“We hope that Playershare Corporate Player Sponsorship will help to fill that gap this season and for many more to come.

"Both the Club and Playershare are keen to generate partnerships with local business and we hope that this new package will prove attractive to both existing supporters and to companies who, until now, may not have previously considered football as a marketing opportunity”.

Influential midfielder Marcus Browning became Playershare’s first signing when he joined Cherries in July 2002 while the scheme was pivotal in capturing, amongst others, Neil Moss, Warren Cummings, Lewis Buxton and Claus Jorgensen.

Playershare also made it possible for skipper Carl Fletcher to pen a new two-year contract last summer. For further details on the Playershare Corporate Player Sponsorship please contact Adrian Kelley (01202 764272) or Cherries’ Commercial Department (01202 726302).
