Season 2005/06 Preview - Oldham Athletic

Last updated : 23 July 2005 By Andy Burton
Best moments?
Beating Manchester City in the cup and beating Bradford City on the last day to stay up.
Worst moments?
The home defeats by Brentford, Stockport or Torquay.

How do you think you'll do this season? Hopes, final position.
The play-offs are a distinct possibility now we have Andy Liddell. If we sign a goalscorer of Luke Beckett's calibre as well we could go up automatically.

What's your squad like, new signings, etc?
If we get another decent goalscorer our squad is as good as any in the division but even without we will do well.

Which youngster will make the biggest impression in your team this season?
Chris Porter if he's given the chance.

What's your manager like and will he still be there at the end of the season?
The Manager is ok so far but it's early days. He shows he wants to go places by pushing for some forward players and getting rid of some dead wood. He will still be here if he takes us to the top off the table as nothing less than success is required.

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?
The three Amigos have been brilliant. They saved Oldham Athletic from extinction and have shown their faith by allowing Ronnie Moore to spend, spend, spend. Oldham can never repay what they have done for the town.

Which team do you want to beat the most and why?
Blackpool for the revenge of the last couple of seasons and to shut up the 'Pool supporters. It would be nice to beat Notts Forest too as well as the Yorkshire teams.

8) Predict your champions and runner up, the 4 Play-Off teams and the 4 to go down.
Champions: Bristol City, Runners up: Nottingham Forest.
Play-offs: Hartlepool, Bradford, Oldham and Tranmere
Relegated: Chesterfield, Franchise, Scunthorpe and Colchester

Catch up with all the goings on at Boundary Park.
