A Message From Forest Green Rovers

Last updated : 10 November 2004 By Andy Burton
My name is Colin Peake and I am the Club Secretary at FGR. We would like to issue a warm welcome to all Cherries fans attending the match on Saturday.

Our club have an excellent record of being friendly and enjoying the game for what it is. We are known as The 'Friendly Club' on the Hill. You will know what I mean when you get to the ground.

Nailsworth is just a market town of 6000 and for FGR to be in their 7th season in the Nationwide Conference is a testament to the hard work everyone puts in, though we are struggling a bit this season. However we have the guts to battle it out on the field of play and most importantly we have a new £3 million pound stadium starting in January.

On the AFCB official site and at www.fgrfc.co.uk you will see details of our FREE Park & Ride system.

The Lawn is surrounded by houses and parking is very limited when an above average attendance is anticipated.

Accordingly we would ask fans to either use official coaches or use the Park & Ride. Both will drop you outside the away visitors turnstiles. PS You do not have to register to view our club web-site. I hope you find it interesting. You can trawl through it and find lots of interesting facts and places to go before the game.

Many thanks for distributing this to your members via email.

Please remember we are a community based club and that we will not tolerate any foul, abusive or racist comment, for it not only reflects on you personally but more importantly the club you profess to support.
