Stanley manager John Coleman was quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I don't think we can have too many complaints about not winning, although losing was possibly a bit harsh. Bournemouth are a good side and they played well. They put us under a lot of pressure, closed us down quickly and showed a great attitude for the game. With everybody else losing, it couldn't have gone better for them. They have certainly got the bit between their teeth and have got every chance of getting out of it. We just need to make sure we aren't one of the teams that gets sucked in".
