Adam Murry Steps Down

Instrumental in taking the club on from Sport-6 in 2009, Adam Murry has decided to step down from the Cherries Board having seen the Club perform the greatest of Great Escapes, automatic promotion and towards financial stability.

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Murry is quoted as saying: "I’ve stepped aside because I finally feel able to. I became involved with a specific aim and that was to ensure the survival of the club post-administration and help it become financially secure. The club has a good board and is heading in the right direction. I leave behind a dedicated board who will continue to fight every day to achieve full stability. They are looking to the long-term survival, not just quick-fixes that do nothing more than paper over the cracks. As a charity man, I could see the huge potential for the club to spread its wings into the community and we have achieved an incredible amount in respect of that. While I may be stepping down as a director, I am determined to ensure the club continues to do good work in respect of charities and will remain involved in that respect".

Manager Eddie Howe is quoted as saying: "I will always be very grateful to Adam for his help, guidance and support. He was pivotal in giving me the opportunity and I can’t thank him enough for that. I’ve always got on really well with him. He’s a really good guy and a keen supporter of the football club. He stepped in at a time when the situation at the club had never been worse. He took on a challenge that not many would have relished but he did. He is such a positive person and that can only rub off on you".
