On signing Simon Gillett, the Southampton youngster who turned down various clubs in preference for AFC Bournemouth, is quoted on the Clubs Official Web Site as saying: "I'm happy to be here as it gives me a chance to play some more first team football and I'll try to add whatever I can to the squad. I'm more comfortable in the middle, but I do have experience on the right hand side. My loan spell at Blackpool went well and I enjoyed getting a first team run of games for the first time in my career and have come here because I want more of that. My priority is to come down here and play as well as I can for Bournemouth and just go from there. There were a couple of other teams interested, but I've heard good things about Bournemouth. Leon Best has said they're a great bunch of players and from what I've seen this morning I agree with him".
