Alan Connell Gone!

AFC Bournemouth have confirmed that out of contract striker Alan Connell, has moved to Torquay United for an usdisclosed fee.

Having suffered cruciate ligament damage in our play-off season, Alan never quite made it back to the Cherries first team line up as part of the starting eleven.

Not surprisingly he's moved to Plainmoor to achieve his ambition.

Speaking to the Clubs Official Web Site, manager Sean O'Driscoll is quoted as saying: "Alan has been terrific in his time here. He got off to a flying start before unfortunately injuring his knee. Alan has always showed a great attitude to his football and this was one of the reasons we signed him in the first place. Having worked hard to regain his fitness we understand that at 22 he needs first team football and Torquay have apparently guaranteed that".

Alan Connell is quoted as saying: "I have enjoyed three fantastic years at Bournemouth and would like to thank everyone connected with the club. I would like it known that this is a career move and something that I feel is right for me at this time. The supporters have been very good to me and I have always appreciated that. I always gave 100% for the club and the players at Bournemouth are a great set of lads. I would like to wish them all the very best for the future".

See you in the Carling Cup on August 23rd Alan!
