Having scored 2 against Weymouth, one against Hamworthy and the consolation against Cheltenham on Saturday. Alan Connell has firmly placed his name to the fore as he bids to start the new season against Hull City a week on Saturday.

He scored a great goal to defeat Eastleigh in the 86th minute on Tuesday evening.

Speaking in the Daily Echo, he is quoted as saying that: "I want to play football and I want to be in the starting line-up for the Hull game, but if I'm not, I will continue to work hard and wait for my chance and try to grab it with both hands when it comes."
