Having lost out on Akinfenwa, Torquay United boss, Leroy Rosenoir, has had talks with Bournemouth's Alan Connell.

Connell may be tempted to move to Plainmoor is first team football is going to be limited at Dean Court during the coming season. Speaking on the Torquay web site, Rosenoir is quoted as saying: "He's just one of a number of players on my list".

In a statement, Connell is quoted as saying: "At the moment, I would like the opportunity to explore my options as my priority is to establish a first-team place next season, whether that be at (is) here or at another club".

For the Club, manager Sean O'Driscoll is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "We are aware Alan is talking to other clubs. That process has started and we'll just have to see where we end up. I would like the situation to be resolved pretty quickly, if I'm honest. Alan wants to play first-team football and I think if he gets an opportunity where he is guaranteed it as much as you can be then I think it would be very difficult for us to persuade him to stay".
