In receiving his award, Hollands is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "At the start of the season you look to do well as a team, but on a personal note you want to win player of the year and have a good season. Winning player of the year is a big achievement for me because there are some great players at the club. There's been a lot of interest in some of the players so to win player of the year is a great achievement personally. I want to thank all the people who voted for me and I'm really happy I've won this award. I'm really delighted to win it and I'd like to think I have a good relationship with the fans. Every time I go out I try to give 110 per cent. When you're at home you've got the fans paying money to watch week in, week out and I think it's only right we should go out there, put in 110 per cent and put on a good show. I can't say enough about how the fans have been in the past few weeks, they've been really good and I can't thank them enough for voting for me. I'd like to thank them for sticking with us throughout the whole of the season".
