AFC Bournemouth picked up a couple of awards at the annual Football League Awards.

The League One Player Of The Season was awarded to Matt Ritchie. AFC Bournemouth also picked up an award for being the League One Family Club of the Year, but missed out in the unsung hero award, where John Harriss was in the running.

Speaking about Matt Ritchie's award, midfielder Harry Arter was quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "It is a big boost just to see his name on the team-sheet because you know opposition teams won’t want to see it. He is going to be a massive player for us during the run-in and to have him here is great because teams fear him. When he was at Swindon, he was always involved in their goals, either scoring or creating them. Every time you watched the highlights on telly, it was his name that was mentioned. Now I have played alongside him, I can see why. His delivery is second to none and is probably the best outside of the Premier League. That is not an exaggeration. There are things he does in training and you think ‘wow, it’s incredible’. Once we start getting on the end of his crosses, it will highlight even more just how good it is. We have got incredible depth and variety in the wing department and the quality to match".
