Without a doubt, our visitors from SE London were far the better team with pace, skill and agility. They also looked a great deal sharper than the Cherries.

Our visitors took the lead half way through the first half when Jalal saw the ball deflected past him by Racon from a Spring free kick. They throught they'd doubed their advantage a short while later only to see the effort ruled out for off-side.

Then the fun started just before the break. A penalty was awarded for a hand ball when a defender failed to get out of the way. This then prompted half a dozen Charlton players to remonstrate with the ref and the assistent who awarded the penalty. Why do this? It's ONLY a friendly! If this has been a league or cup match, at least 2 or 3 would have been booked!

Brett Pitman duely converted the penalty on the stroke of half time to ensure that the Cherries went in level at the break.

It has to be noted that Steve Fletcher had missed two good headers, one of which prompted a full stretched save from the visiting keeper.

The second half was equally lively. Again our visitors looked far more purposeful going forward than the Cherries.

Lloyd Sam restored Charlton's lead with a thunderous effort, which only saw Igoe respond by rattling their cross bar in one of few efforts the Cherries had on target in the second period.

More lively 'chat' with the ref saw a stupid yellow card shown to their number 4 for further needless remonstrating when he upended Bradbury. Even the Charlton bench got involved after one challenge! Why? IT'S ONLY A FRIENDLY! Heaven knows what they'll do when there are points at stake!

Overall it was the right result as the Cherries now look forward to a trip to Bury at the weekend as League action gets underway again.
