Carl Fletcher revealed his plans to the rest of the squad after the defeat at Luton Town in an emotional speech to the rest of the squad.

Paying tribute to Captain Marvel Sean O'Driscoll is full of praise for Carl saying on the Clubs Official Web Site "the biggest compliment I can pay Carl is that as this transfer saga evolved, a fee was agreed on Sunday afternoon, Carl spoke with representatives from West Ham on Sunday evening and agreed the details of his contract. When I rang to speak to him he was insistent that he would play in our Bank Holiday game at Luton. To West Ham's credit they allowed Carl to participate in the game and with only 11 members of the squad fit we were delighted to be able to include Carl in the starting line-up. His performance, his attitude and his commitment, despite his imminent move to West Ham, and the fact that any sort of injury could have proved disastrous to his future career, are part of the reason he was made captain and why he will be almost impossible to replace".
