Barnsley Postponement

Speaking to the Bournemouth Evening Echo following the postponement of the Barnsley match on December 28th, Sean O'Driscoll was quoted as saying: "We did a bit of training on the pitch at about 10.30am and you could hardly stand up on it. It would probably have thawed by mid-afternoon but the forecast was for the temperatures to go way below freezing as the day wore on. By 9pm when we would still have been playing and the pitch would have been frozen again. It was too dangerous and you cannot risk people's careers and livelihoods on a pitch like that. So it was a common sense decision not to play the game. It wasn't playable. Rob Styles was due to referee the game and he got to the ground early and made the right decision. Even if he had left it until later, I'm sure he would have made the same decision".

The new date for the game has been set for February 28th, 2006, ko 1945.
