Richard O'Kelly was quoted after the 0-0 draw, on BBCi as saying: "With all the circumstances, like Marcus Browning being injured in the warm-up, it was a wonderful team performance - they all pulled together. We were the better side in the first half - Barnsley put us under pressure in the second, but we coped with it. Adam Griffiths was sick on the pitch just before the kick-off, but he was outstanding in the second half".

Eddie Howe went on record after the match, on BBCi, as saying: "I think we'd have taken a point and a clean sheet before the game, so we're quite pleased. We lost Marcus Browning just before the kick-off, so we had to reshuffle but the lads adapted well. We felt we deserved our point - it wasn't the prettiest of games but we dug in and showed our character".

The Barnsley boss, Andy Richie, was not overly impressed, especially with the goal that was ruled out. He was quoted after the match on BBCi as saying: "I thought the referee either had to blow for a legitimate goal, or for a penalty kick. Their lad pulled Brian all over the place, but he gave it the other way. And I was very surprised the referee only gave three additional minutes at the end - the way Bournemouth were timewasting, it could have been seven".
