Barnsley Reaction - Cherries I

What goes round, comes around as the Cherries claim a last gasp winner against Barnsley, in a similar fashion as Charlton Athletic achieved over the Cherries last Tuesday.

Manager Eddie Howe was quoted on BBC Radio Solent as saying after the match: "There were questions asked after Tuesday, the fact that we got beaten by a team that were struggling at the bottom of the table. Thankfully the players answered those questions today and answered them in a positive fashion. People will look at us and think ‘Barnsley away that’s a tough game, I wonder how Bournemouth will get on’ but the mentality of the group is still very strong. Football is a strange game, the way things happen and why they happen no one knows, but we were so low after Tuesday. We felt we had done enough to get another important point and build on our recent successes, so to concede with practically the last kick of the game was a real sickener. And then we do it to Barnsley. It’s strange how the football Gods work".
