Manager Eddie Howe was quoted as saying on BBC Radio Solent: "It was a great first half performance, we looked a real goal threat. We counter attacked really well throughout the whole game. I thought we were well on top, well in control and dominated a decent side. You only have to look back a couple of years and see that this team were in the Premier League so we are very pleased to come here and turn them over so convincingly. We thought the fourth would have put the game to bed but fair play to Birmingham, they showed good character to keep going. They scored one and then got another and then we had to defend well and use our nous to see the game out, but all in all what a great run the players have put together. In a short time, we have had game after game, long away trips, full credit to them for what they’ve done this month. When you’re in good form and you’re confident, you believe you can win any game so it certainly helps when the games come thick and fast. But you look at some of the challenges we have faced on the road in that period and full credit to the players for the consistency of their performances. They’ve had to go again and again, so for the consistency of their performances, I’m really pleased with them".
