Birmingham City Reaction - Cherries II

Ian Harte (rightly) took the plaudits for scoring his first goal in nearly two years with a sweet strike in the 52nd minute to make it 4-0 to the Cherries at St Andrews on Saturday.

Manager Eddie Howe was singing his praises, being quoted on the Clubs Official Web Site as saying: "He’s been getting closer and closer. He’s a set piece specialist - we know about his left foot. Since he’s come into the team we have scored a lot of goals from that sweet left peg. He’s taken a short corner, I thought he was going to cross it and then he’s put it in the top corner. I think his experience has been key for us. He knows how to manage games for us. He’s been at the very highest level in world football. He’s seen it and been there and done it and that can only help the players around him. He’s a real cool head in tight situations and he manipulates the ball so well with his left foot. He’s been excellent for us defensively and he’s been excellent from set plays, so it’s great to see him score today, and it’s a fitting reward for his performances".
