Bits And Pieces

The Football Club has announced that Abdul Jaffer has stepped up to the post of Vice Chairman.

Peter Phillips, speaking on the Clubs Official Web Site is quoted as saying: "Abdul has done a brilliant job for the club since I've been chairman, and in many ways he's been my right-hand man so this appointment is something he deserves. Andrew Kaye has been an extremely loyal and hard working vice chairman, and I very much appreciate the help he has given me over the past three years. Andrew has no ambition to become chairman so is happy to step aside".

Reports coming out of Bournemouth are suggesting that Brian Stock was arrested on Saturday night after an incident in a local night club on Saturday, apparently arrested on a public order offence and issued with a fixed penalty notice for disorder. The football club has not commented on the incident.

Following the incident at Valley Parade where Dean Windass bit Marcus Browning, news has filtered out that Southend keeper Darryl Flahavan is following suit with a report to the FA. Initially the keeper didn't want to report the incident he was involved with, but has changed his mind being saying: "Marcus has said he's suffered the same thing and I think something needs to be done now. Dean Windass can't go around biting people - it's out of order".
