Speaking on BBC Radio Solent after the match, manager Sean O'Driscoll was quoted saying: "After we conceded the first goal we dominated them for the rest of the game. We had worked all week on trying to stop their crosses and that (the goal) was their first cross and the scored from it so it was a poor start from us but we bounced back and the second goal was probably one of the best goals that we've scored - a good team goal and a good team passing performance. I'm delighted. He always looks like he is going to score and when he doesn't he is still an important member of the team. We said at half time that everyone was keen for him to get his hat trick. He missed the last penalty so it was nice of him to clinch it. We showed today that maybe we are the best passing side in the division".

Jamie Hayter was quoted as saying: "A great night! A great three points first and foremost but obviously very satisfying to get a hat trick. I thought we started quite well. It (Blackpool's goal) was their first ball into the box and we managed to concede from it. It didn't get our heads down and we controlled the game after that for a well-deserved victory. The first one, their defender slipped, I've got the ball and ran towards goal and had a strike. I caught it really sweet and its gone right into the bottom corner. And the second one was a good bit of interplay between me and Drew, he played it round the corner, I played it back to him and he played it back and I just slid it into the corner. It's nice to get a couple of goals as I haven't scored for a few games so it's a great feeling. We were excellent tonight. Our closing down never gave them a second. The media highlights will go towards me but it was a great team performance and the best I've played for a long time".
