AFC Bournemouth signed two players ahead of the trip to Northampton Town. They are Josh Walker from Middlesbrough, who has signed on a months loan. The 18-year old "creative" midfielder will be available up to and including the Easter Monday trip to Carlisle United. Walker is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I didn't need to think twice about coming here. I was desperate for first-team football because it's been pretty frustrating for me at Boro this season. I came on as substitute in the last game of the Premiership season against Fulham last season, but I've been looking to get out on loan and the manager now thinks it's the right time for me. I cannot wait to get started with Bournemouth". So far Walker has only made one subsititute appearance for 'Boro, against Fulham in May 2006.

The other signing is Michael Standing who has signed on a non-contract basis until the end of the season. Standing was with Chesterfield up until October. The 25-year old midfielder started life at Aston Villa, moving to Bradford City (18 apps + 14 as sub, scoring twice), Walsall (44 apps + 17 as sub, scoring four times) and then Chesterfield where he didn't feature in any of their games!
