Bond Praises Roach

Being interviewed in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, manager Kevin Bond has praised the work of Joe Roach, the AFCB Youth Coach. He is quoted as saying: "You always want to be producing home-grown players if you can - and Joe Roach is a vital part of that. Players are coming through and hopefully, there are plenty more to come. Sam Vokes has come through, Josh McQuoid came on as sub against Doncaster and we have a couple of others pushing for their chance. And when you're trying to attract other youngsters to join the club, it is a massive help when you can point to those guys who are already playing first-team football. It is difficult for a club like us because the best players in the area tend to get snapped up by the bigger clubs who have the better facilities. But the progression to first-team football is quicker at a club like Bournemouth. I think Joe has kept it simple and that is so important that you don't try and make too much science out of coaching kids and over-complicate things. He's got the perfect balance in place in that respect".
