Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Bond is quoted as saying: "I would love to bring David back here but, whether it will happen, I don't know. I'm not sure that we are in a position to meet his demands never mind anything else. I think the situation the club finds itself in would stop me clinching a deal with anybody at this moment in time. But I've spoken to David and he knows of our interest".
