Bond Unsure Of Sutton Role

Current manager, Kevin Bond, speaks of the appointment of Ted Sutton as the Clubs' "Football Operations Director".

Bond is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "In some instances, it can have its benefits for a young and inexperienced manager. But there is usually a cost involved and you have to weigh it up. I haven't really got a view at this moment in time. We were introduced to Sport-6 last week and although I knew of Savi (Alastair Saverimutto, chief executive), I didn't really know too much about the other three directors. Ted's appointment came as a complete surprise to everybody on the footballing side. I was told Savi would be coming in as chief executive and it's pretty normal for a new man to want to appoint his own team. Regarding Ted and AFC Bournemouth, I've only read in the paper what his role is going to be. At this stage, I've got no idea what input he plans to have with the first team. I don't know Ted although he seems a really nice guy. It's claimed he wants to be useful for the first team. In what capacity, I'm not sure. In the introduction we had, he said he'd like to be a buffer between Savi and me. Until his role becomes clear, it's diffiuclt for me to second-guess anything. I'm sure the clarification will come. Everybody's efforts are being concentrated on the takeover and that's the most important thing at the moment".
