Bournemouth V Derby at Dean Court - Match Preview

Ritchie set for Cherries return

Winger Matt Ritchie could be in line for his first appearance of the season when Bournemouth welcome Derby to the south coast.

The former Swindon man played an hour in midweek as the Cherries beat Reading 2-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly and manager Eddie Howe now looks likely to involve Ritchie against the Rams.

Goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan also made his return from injury in that match but fellow shot-stopper Ryan Allsop remains sidelined with glandular fever with no date currently being set on his return to training.

Leading scorer Lewis Grabban looks set to start having signed a new contract with the club as the Cherries search for their first win since October 5.

John Eustace comes back into the reckoning for Derby.

Eustace served a one-match suspension as the Rams signed off for the international break with a 3-0 home win over Sheffield Wednesday. Fellow midfielder Jeff Hendrick (ankle) and striker Johnny Russell (broken leg) will also return to contention after injury having played almost an hour for Derby's Under-21 side this week.

The trip to the south coast has come too soon for defender Mark O'Brien (knee), goalkeeper Adam Legzdins (ankle) and midfielder James Bailey (knee) but head coach Steve McClaren hopes to have the trio back next week.

On-loan defender Zak Whitbread (calf) remains out while Paul Coutts and Shaun Barker continue their rehabilitation from long-term knee injuries.
