AFC Bournemouth annouced that they have managed to capture the services of Steven Gregory from newly promoted AFC Wimbledon for an undisclosed fee - believed to be around the £55,000 mark.

Manager Lee Bradbury is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo on his new signing as saying: "He played a big part in the promotion at AFC Wimbledon last season. They were really disappointed to lose him. "But it is the same as we have experienced - when teams from above come in for your players, it is always hard to keep the lads. They have had to let him go and we will benefit from it. I think if we do a bit of work with him, he will turn into a great player. I am excited to have him joining the squad and to see him playing in the Bournemouth colours. I think he is a Bournemouth player in the way he plays his football. He is tidy on the ball and athletic".

Bradders went on to say: "I am excited to have him joining the squad and to see him playing in the Bournemouth colours. I think he is a Bournemouth player in the way he plays his football. He is tidy on the ball and athletic. He has been a little bit restricted in the way he has had to play in the past couple of seasons at AFC Wimbledon, in a sitting role in midfield. But he is more than happy to get forward and wants to get forward and score goals. He has certainly got the athleticism to do that and we will take him off the leash here. But he will be joining a lot of other good central midfielders".
