At the end of the game, manager Sean O'Driscoll was quoted as saying: "I was disappointed with the first-half. As the game went on we got into it more and I thought we deserved the win ...... we weren't surprised with how Brentford played, they stopped us passing the ball so we've had to be more resilient, but the players have been like that all season".
Martin Allen, Brentford's boss, was quoted afterwards as saying: "The team acquitted themselves very well, but a couple of basic errors have cost us dearly again ...... we keep making rash challenges around our box. When people have their backs to play, you don't need to foul them ..... I just wanted to win this game, but our errors of judgment and lack of concentration were not good enough ..... I was bitterly disappointed to concede a late goal from a free-kick just before half-time, and then we've let in a goal right near the end again when we weren't in any danger. There will be some straight talking before the play-off semi-final - I love my players to bits and I've done my best to give them confidence".
