Brentford Reaction - Cherries

Manager Eddie Howe was quoted after the 1-0 win over Brentford as saying: "I don’t think we were at our best today by any means. I’m slightly disappointed with the performance. I know that we’re capable of a lot better than that but when you look a little bit deeper and you win the game knowing that you’re below your best, that’s a very good sign. We had to show a lot of heart today, a lot of grit and determination knowing that we weren’t using the ball as well as we can do. There was some heroic defending at the end but we leave knowing there is a lot more in the tank and we have come away with three points – that’s a good feeling. We will take where we are. We know there are 44 games to go and there’s a long way to go and a lot of twists and turns ahead I’m sure. But we have made a good start, a start that we would have wanted and hoped to make and now it’s up to us to try and build on that".
