Manager Eddie Howe, speaking to BBC Radio Solentafter the match, was quoted as saying on the draw: "We are bitterly disappointed because I felt the lads worked incredibly hard today and put a real shift in for the club, and I felt we deserved more. I felt we had the better chances. I don't think Campy was really worked today, apart from a great strike. When you consider Brighton are one of the best footballing teams in the division and they try and strangle you with possession, we nullified that threat today. They had spells of possession but in the main it was pretty even. We had some good chances and it was disappointing to not take more than one".

On the first full appearance of Matt Ritchie: "I think you can see the effect Matt had on our team today. I thought he really did play well, not just his goal but he set chances up, his crossing is very good and he's an obvious goal threat. He said to me earlier in the week, 'I'm not sure how long I'm going to be able to play'. The fact he played 90 minutes is testament to his performance. I really had in mind 60 or 70 minutes but I had to leave him on".
