Bury Reaction - Cherries

Wes Thomas was first to put his hand up after the Bury match after he squandered a number of chances to wrap up the Cherries first home League win since August 13th.

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Thomas was quoted as saying: "It was a game we should have put to bed in the first half. I was one of the players guilty of missing a few chances and it was three points lost. I should have popped away my chances and we should have won the game easily. Not scoring a goal at home is probably at the back of my mind at the moment but I am sure it will come eventually. Sometimes you take the only chance you get in a game and, in the next game, you will have a few chances and not take any".

Of his chances, Thomas went on to say: "I jumped a bit too early and didn’t get the right connection. It just skimmed off the top of my head. It was a great chance and, if it had gone in, we would have been 2-0 up and I think we would have gone on to win. It was three points thrown away. It does play on your mind when you miss good chances but I have got to forget about it and go again against Colchester. I am confident and I am getting chances in every game. I can’t go into a game worrying about chances I have missed in the previous game and will put it behind me. We have been doing well on our travels and I don’t know what it is about playing at home. I think we are playing well but just not taking our chances. I am sure it will turn and, hopefully, the sooner, the better".
