Carling Cup - 2006/07

Last updated : 20 June 2006 By Bournemouth Co-Ordinator
With the dust hardly settled on the last domestic season, and the World Cup in full swing, we see the first of the new seasons fixtures being made available with the first round draw of the Carling Cup.

This years first round draw is split north and south, and split again between seeded and unseeded. The unseeded clubs are guaranteed a game against seeded opposition.

For AFC Bournemouth, because of our relatively low finish in League One, we're an unseeded club. But this does mean that we could be playing either Southampton, or Brighton as a result!

Here is the list of southern seeded clubs:
Birmingham City
West Bromwich Albion
Crystal Palace
Coventry City
Norwich City
Luton Town
Cardiff City
Southampton
Plymouth Argyle
Ispwich Town
Queens Park Rangers
Southend United
Colchester United
Millwall
Brighton & Hove Albion
Brentford
Swansea City
Bristol City

And here are the unseeded southern sides:
Gillingham
Yeovil Town
AFC Bournemouth
Northampton Town
Leyton Orient
Cheltenham Town
Franchise FC
Swindon Town
Walsall
Wycombe Wanderers
Peterborough United
Shrewsbury Town
Boston United
Bristol Rovers
Barnet
Torquay United
Notts County
Hereford United

The first round draw will be taking place at midday on Wednesday 21st June.
