Manager Alan Pardew was quoted after the match as saying: "We were a bit nervous from Saturday because we got beaten. We've got to realise that every team that comes here will make us unsettled but we've still got enough quality to win games. We're favourites... we've got a lot of work to do... We're playing at perhaps 95%".
