Carling Cup, Third Round Preview

Confidence should be high in the Bournemouth camp as we return to Dean Court after 2 great away wins as we look to extend the current unbeaten run to 8 matches.

The Carling Cup has already provided great excitement for Bournemouth fans following an all too rare away win at Leyton Orient, and then the dramatic 3-3 (aet) away to Blackburn Rovers, leading to the nail biting 7-6 penalty shoot out win.

Although Cardiff City are towards the wrong end of the Coca Cola League Championship, their recent form has seen then unbeaten in their last 4 matches. That run has seen them beat Rotherham United (2-0), but drawn the rest, against Leeds United (0-0), Brighton & Hove Albion (1-1) and Millwall (2-2).

As for the team news, it is anticipated that Bournemouth could start with an unchanged 11 that beat Oldham Athletic away on Saturday as Warren Cummings (ankle ligaments), Dani Rodrigues (hamstring) and Jason Tindall (knee). Stephen Purches is also likely to be missing with further ankle problems.

For Cardiff City, they might employ a change in goalie as Neill Alexander could make his first start this season. Rhys Weston, Josh Collins, Lee Bullock and Cameron Jerome will also and Byron Anthony could be involved, but Willie Boland and Paul Parry are doubtful (according to BBCi).
