Speaking on BBC i, manager Sean O'Driscoll is quoted as saying: "Carlisle came with three strikers and gave us a threat, but we'd done our homework and coped with it really well .... we passed the ball well, created chances, kept our patience and I think we deserved the win. I'm pleased for Derek Holmes as he's worked ever so hard, and he's got a couple of goals now".

For Carlisle United, their manager, Paul Simpson, is quoted on BBC i as saying: "We've come up against a very good footballing side - there's no shame in going out to a team like Bournemouth .... we started the second half well, but then switched off a bit to allow them to break away and get the first goal. Soon, we were 2-0 down and we carried on battling and working hard, but we didn't get the rub of the green".
