Burnley failed to claim the second automatic promotion place as the Clarets lost at home to Middlesbrough at Turf Moor. A solitary Butterfield goal in the 51st minute was enough to separate the sides. Burnley 2nd, Middlesbrough 12th.

Derby County kept alive their faint hopes of automatic promotion as they managed to see Huddersfield Town off with a 3-1 win at the iPro Stadium even though Wells gave the Terriers the lead in the 14th minute. The Rams hit back through Russell (28th min), a Smithies own goal (50th min) and a Martin penalty in the 57th minute. Town didn't help their cause when Lynch and Clarke both saw red. Derby County 3rd, Huddersfield Town 17th.

Queens Park Rangers managed to get back to winning ways with an emphatic 5-2 win over Nottingham Forest at Loftus Road. Benayoun gave the home side the lead as early as the 2nd minute only to see Lascelles level in the 37th minute. Hoilett restored the home sides advantage just before the break. Derbyshire levelled in the 75th minute, but that was as good as it got for Forest as Onuoha (84th min), Morrison (90th min) and Zamora (92nd min) ripped Forest apart before the final whistle. Queens Park Rangers 4th, Nottingham Forest 11th.

Brighton & Hove Albion seem to have found a little bit of form going in the final few matches of the season as the Seagulls managed to record back to back wins with their victory over Charlton Athletic at The Amex. Goals from Lingard (11th min), Ulloa (43rd min) and Forster-Caskey (95th min) made sure that the points remained on the south coast. Brighton & Hove Albion 6th, Charlton Athletic 21st.

Ipswich Town are hot on the heels of the Seagulls as they recorded a 2-1 win over Doncaster Rovers at Portman Road. Murphy gave the Tractorboys the lead in the 47th minute, with Brown levelling for Donny from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute. Chambers bagged the winner for the home side 3 minutes later. Ipswich Town 7th, Doncaster Rovers 19th.

AFC Bournemouth had to make do with a share of the spoils at Huish Park against Yeovil Town after Moore gave the Glovers the lead in the 26th minute. Fraser levelled for the Cherries just before the hours mark. Yeovil Town 23rd, AFC Bournemouth 9th.

Like the Cherries, Blackburn Rovers had to settle for a point in their encounter with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. Rhodes gave the visitors the lead in the 15th minute, with Buxton levelling on the half-hour. Conway (36th min) and Keane (43rd min) gave Rovers a 2-goal cushion going in at the break. The spoils had to be shared after Nuhiu bagged a brace in the 72nd and 95th minutes. Sheffield Wednesday 15th, Blackburn Rovers 10th.

Millwall and Watford shared the spoils at The Den. McGugan gave the Hornets the lead in the 17th minute, with Morison levelling just after the hour mark. Abdi thought that he'd scored the winner in the 86th minute for the visitors only to see Woolford rescue a point for the Lions in the 95th minute. Millwall 22nd, Watford 13th.

Bolton Wanderers managed to edge Barnsley out at The Reebok as a solitary Beckford goal just before half time proved to be enough for the Trotters. Bolton Wanderers 14th, Barnsley 24th.

A Murphy brace in the 21st and 73rd minutes at Elland Road gave Leeds United the points over Blackpool, who are getting very close to being dragged in to the bottom-3. Leeds United 16th, Blackpool 20th.

Leicester City (1st), play Reading (8th) on Monday evening.

Wigan Athletic (5th) were in FA Cup action, leaving Birmingham City (18th) with out a game this weekend.
