After a 4-year absense, Burnley have managed to return to the Premiership following a 2-0 home win over Wigan Athletic at Turf Moor. Goals from Barnes midway through the opening period and Kightly just before the break sealed victory and automatic promotion, while the Latics have a bit more work to do to guarantee a play-off place. Burnley 2nd, Wigan Athletic 5th.

That win for the Clarets sets Derby County up for a place in this season's play-offs as they piled more heartache on to Barnsley at the iPro Stadium. Hendrick and Russell gave the Rams a 2-goal cushion with goals in the 34th and 42nd minutes, leaving Proschwitz with the task of bagging a consolation with 10 minutes left. The result leaves the Tykes on the verge of League One action next season as they're 4-points shy of safety with just 2 left to play. Derby County 3rd, Barnsley 23rd.

Queens Park Rangers managed to confirm their place in the end of season play-offs with a 2-1 over Watford at Loftus Road even though the Hornets went ahead 6 minutes after the break through Ranegie. Strikes from Barton (76th min) and Austin (90th min) sealed victory and a play-off place. Watford are going no where! Queens Park Rangers 4th, Watford 12th.

Brighton & Hove Albion are clinging on to the final play-off place, courtesy of a 1-1 draw against Blackpool at the Amex. Stephens gave the Seagull the lead in the 46th minute, only to see Dobbie level 5 minutes later. The results didn't do either any favours, especially as the Tangerines dropped in the bottom-3 for the first time this season. Brighton & Hove Albion 6th, Blackpool 22nd.

Until recently, Nottingham Forest were looking at a mid-table place having looked determined not to succeed this season, but now they're looking strong play-off candidates after back-to-back wins, their latest coming at the expense of Leeds United at Elland Road. A Derbyshire brace in the 2nd and 16th minutes proved to be enough for the poijnts, which leaves Forest a point shy of the top-6. Leeds United 16th, Nottingham Forest 7th.

Ipswich Town and AFC Bournemouth managed to cancel each other out at Portman Road with a 2-2 draw which didn't help the play-off cause for either. An Anderson goal in the 36th minute for the Tractor Boys was cancelled out with a Cook over head strike just before the break. A green strike 10 minutes after the restart may have restored the home sides advantage, but not before Ritchie levelled with 10-minutes to go. Ipswich Town 8th, AFC Bournemouth 11th.

Blackburn Rovers are back in the reckoning again following a comprehensive 4-2 win over Birmingham City at St Andrews - not the first time the Blues have lost by that score on their own turf. Rovers raced in to a 4-goal lead with strikes from Gestede (10th, 20th, and on the stroke of half time), plus one from Kane in the 24th minute. Consolations from Zigic (63rd min) and Gray (84th min) were just that for the home side as they teeter just above the drop zone. Birmingham City 21st, Blackburn Rovers 10th.

Charlton Athletic kept their heads above water with a 3-2 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough, but had to come from behind after Nuhiu (3rd min) and Maguire (8th min) gave the Owls a flying start. The Addicks responded quickly with a Sordell strike in the 10th minute, with the hat-trick completed in the 43rd and 63rd minutes. Sheffield Wednesday 15th, Charlton Athletic 18th.

Huddersfield Town confirmed their status for next season while pushing Yeovil Town on the edge of a quick return to League One. Wells gave the Terriers the lead in the 73rd minute, while Lawrence levelled 4 minutes later for the Glovers. Clayton bagged the winner for the visitors in the 97th minute. Yeovil Town will be relegated on Friday evening should they loose to Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex. Yeovil Town 24th, Huddersfield Town 17th.

The only other game played out on Easter Monday saw Millwall (20th) draw 0-0 with Doncaster Rovers (19th) at the Den.

Playing on Tuesday evening are Bolton Wanderers (14th) against Leicester City (1st) and Reading (9th) who take on Middlesbrough (13th).
