Promoted Leicester City are to within a point of a 3-figure points haul for the season following a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town at the John Smiths Stadium. Goals from Taylor-Fletcher (31st min) and Morgan (75th min) sealed the win for the Foxes. Huddersfield Town 17th, Leicester City 1st.

Following the Foxes to the Premiership are Burnley who followed up their promotion over the Easter weekend with a 1-0 win over Ipswich Town, who saw their play-off ambitions die when Kightly bagged what proved to be the winner in the 54th minute for the Clarets. Burnley 2nd, Ipswich Town 10th.

Derby County limbered up for their stint in the play-offs with a 4-2 win over Watford at the iPro Stadium even though Deeney put the Hornets ahead in the 5th minute. The Rams hit back through Hendrick (28th min) and Forsyth (60th min) before the visitors were reduced to 10-men when Cassetti was shown red. Ranegie levelled for the Hornets in the 70th minute, leaving Hendrick and Martin to wrap up the win with strikes in the 81st and 86th minutes. Derby County 3rd, Watford 13th.

Also limbering up for the play-offs are Queens Park Rangers who rounded off their home campaign by handing struggling Millwall a life line at Loftus Road. Austin had put the Hoops ahead in the 78th minute from the penalty spot, only for Malone to pop up with the leveller in stoppage time to claim a valuable point in their battle against the drop. Queens Park Rangers 4th, Millwall 20th.

Reading had to come from behind against Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium to claim the points to elevate them back in to the play-off places as Copinger gave Donny the lead in the 25th minute. The Royals hit back with goals from Le Fondre (63rd min pen), and a brace from Pogrebnyak in the 86th and 95th minutes. The result leaves Donny with one gave left to salvage their Championship survivial and just one point above the drop zone. Doncaster Rovers 21st, Reading 5th.

Wigan Athletic handed a life line to struggling Blackpool at the DW Stadium as the Tangerines claimed a valuable 2-0 win over their neighbours. Goals from Keogh (60th min) and Dobbie (70th min) gave the sea siders hope of beating the drop next weekend, while the Latics are in danger of missing out on the play-offs altogether! Wigan Athletic 6th, Blackpool 18th.

Brighton & Hove Albion finally confirmed the fate of Yeovil Town on Friday evening as the Seagulls claimed a 2-0 win to send the Glovers back down to League One after one season up. Goals from Lua Lua (78th min) and Lingard (93rd min) sealed the win to confirm Yeovil Town's relegation. Meanwhile, the Seagull are reliant on results elsewhere to claim their play-off place. Brighton & Hove Albion 7th, Yeovil Town 24th.

Blackburn Rovers are making a late bid for a play-off place, while Charlton Athletic still have it all to do to ensure their Championship status. Gestede gave Rovers the lead in the 26th minute, with Keane doubling the advantage in the 51st minute. Sordell pulled one back in the 54th minute, but it wasn't enough to inspire a comeback as Cairney put the game beyond doubt in the 64th minute. Charlton Athletic 19th, Blackburn Rovers 8th.

Recent results, and those elsewhere, meant that AFC Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest miss out on the play-offs this time around, but that didn't stop the Cherries posting a decent 4-1 win over their visitors to Dean Court. A brace each got Kermorgant (43rd and 91st mins) and Grabban (47th and 70th min pen) only drew a response from Halford in the 56th minute. AFC Bournemouth 9th, Nottingham Forest 11th.

Middlesbrough put Barnsley out of their misery at the Riverside as the Tykes were relegated to League One despite Mvoto putting the strugglers ahead in the 53rd minute. Tomlin levelled a minute later, with Graham and Tomlin putting the matter to bed in the 90th and 93rd minutes respectively. Middlesbrough 12th, Barnsley 23rd.

Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton Wanderers met in a mid-table clash at Hillsborough, in a game that had no bearing on any issue in the Championship. The Trotters raced in to a 3-goal lead through Danns (8th min), Lee (19th min) and Trotter (29th min), leaving Mattock to bag a consolation in the 38th minute. Sheffield Wednesday 16th, Bolton Wanderers 14th.

Their disasterous home run could see Birmingham City relegated as the Blues slipped in to the bottom-3 at just the wrong time as Leeds United came away from St Andrews with a 3-1 win. Goals from Smith (58th min), Pugh (60th min) and a Caddis own goal (78th min) hardly helped the cause while Macheda tried to put some respectability on the scoreline in the 83rd minute, but it was too little too late. Birmingham City 22nd, Leeds United 15th.
