They may have waltzed to promotion over the weekend, but Leicester City were brought back down to earth with a thump by a Brighton & Hove Albion side who have found goals hard to come by in recent weeks. Ward and Lingard gave the Seagulls the lead with strikes in the 17th and 24th minutes. A brace from Ulloa in the 65th and 80th minutes wrapped the points up before Taylor-Fletcher claimed a consolation for the side promoted on Saturday with an 89th minute strike. Leicester City 1st, Brighton & Hove Albion 7th.

With the Foxes slipping up, it allowed Burnley to narrow the gap at the top to just 6-points as a Barnes goal in the 7th minute helped the Clarets to 3-points over Barnsley at Oakwell to leave the home side 5-points shy of safety. Barnsley 23rd, Burnley 2nd.

Derby County managed to get back on the winning trail with a 3-1 win over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road, even though Goodwillies gave the Tangerines the lead in the 1st minute - but that was as good as it got for the home side as Martin (3rd min), Bamford (14th min) and Bryson (20th min) made sure that the points headed back to the East Midlands. Blackpool 20th, Derby County 3rd.

Queens Park Rangers continue to peddle backwards, or so it seems, as they slipped to another defeat, this time at Ewood Park againat Blackburn Rovers. Goals from Gestede (9th min) and Spurr (49th min) sealed the points as QPR managed to register just one shot on target throughout the match. Blackburn Rovers 11th, Queens Park Rangers 4th.

Wigan Athletic suffered a rare off day as they slipped to strugglers Millwall at the DW Stadium. The only goal of the game came in the 22nd minute courtesy of Edwards who put the SE London side within sight of safety. Wigan Athletic 5th, Millwall 22nd.

Reading came a cropper against AFC Bournemouth at Dean Court as the Dorset side recorded a 3-1 win, their 5th on the spin and 8th in 10 matches as the Royals were blown away in the opening 45-minutes on the south coast. A brace from Ritchie in the 7th and 19th minutes was added to by a Kermorgant header on the stroke of half time as Robson-Kanu bagged a consolation for the Royals in the 75th minute. AFC Bournemouth 9th, Reading 6th.

On a decent night for those chasing a play-off place, Ipswich Town recorded a 2-0 away win over Huddersfield Town at the John Smiths Stadium. Goals from Anderson (6th min) and Murphy (33rd min) sealed the win to make the race for the play-off places tight! Huddersfield Town 17th, Ipswich Town 8th.

Nottingham Forest managed to salvage a point against Sheffield Wednesday at The City Ground, but had to come from behind to do so after Maguire gave the Owls a 15th minute lead from the penalty spot. Mackie levelled in the 44th minute, only to see Buxton restore the Owls' advantage on the stroke of half time and Mattock extend the lead just before the hour mark. Tudgay (77th min) and Paterson (87th min) managed to claim a point despite Collins seeing red in the 80th minute. Nottingham Forest 10th, Sheffield Wednesday 15th.

Their woes off the pitch might be easing, but on the pitch, it doesn't get any better for Leeds United as Watford managed to ease their way to a 3-0 win at Vicarage Road. Goals from Abdi (9th min), Anya (32nd min) and Deeney (67th min) sealed the win for the Hornets. Watford 12th, Leeds United 16th.

Middlesbrough managed to halt Birmingham City's decent away form with a 3-1 win at The Riverside. Two quick-fire goals from Graham (29th min) and Butterfield (31st min) gave Boro a 2-goal lead before Huws reduced the deficit in the 37th minute. Despite being reduced to 9-men, Tomlin made the game safe for the home side with an 89th minute strike. Middlesbrough 13th, Birmingham City 18th.

Bolton Wanderers made sure of their Championship status for another season with a 2-1 win over Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat as Danns (7th min) and Mason (15th min) gave the Trotters a 2-goal cushion. Cotterill halved the deficit with an 18th minute strike, but the comeback wasn't on as the defeat left Rovers with work to do to stay up. Doncaster Rovers 19th, Bolton Wanderers 14th.

Have Charlton Athletic finally put to bed any hope Yeovil Town have of staying up? It's quite possible after the Addicks recorded a 3-2 win over the Glovers. Ajdarevic put the home side ahead in the 10th minute, with Grant levelling 2 minutes later for the west country side. Two quick goals from Dervite (48th min) and Sordell (51st min) left the Glovers with a mountain to climb, but gave the home side a scare when Moore pulled one back in the 74th minute to set up an interesting finish - it wasn't enough to inspire a comeback to salvage a much needed point. Charlton Athletic 21st, Yeovil Town 24th.
