Blackpool rose to the summit of the Championship as they managed to edge Reading out at Bloomfield Road. The only goal of the came courtesy of Barkhuiszen in the 75th minute. Blackpool 1st, Reading 12th.

It was the late show at the King Power Stadium as Leicester City managed to claim the points against Birmingham City after Green gave the Blues the lead in the 12th minute. The late show got under way in the 78th minute when Vardy equalised with 12 minutes to go, with King putting City ahead 4 minutes later. A penalty from Nugent pretty much sealed the points in the 93rd minute, with an interesting final few moments set up when Burke clawed it back to 3-2 a minute later. Leicester City 2nd, Birmingham City 18th.

Queens Park Rangers briefly went top in their lunch time kick off as they managed to edge Bolton Wanderers at The Reebok as Johnson bagged the only goal in the 54th minute. Bolton Wanderers 21st, Queens Park Rangers 3rd.

Leeds United managed to edge Ipswich Town out at Portman Road as they came from behind after McGoldrick put the home side ahead in the 12th minute. Goals from Varney (28th min) and McCormack (49th min) proved decisive. Ipswich Town 17th, Leeds United 5th.

It's going to be a long season on the road for newly promoted AFC Bournemouth, unless they can find their travel legs in the second tier after a 5-1 defeat at the John Smiths Stadium against Huddersfield Town. Hammill got the Terriers off the mark with a 14th minute strike, with a Vaughan brace just before the break in the 37th and 42nd minutes. Vaughan then completed his hat trick from the penalty spot in the 58th minute. Pugh bagged a consolation for the Cherries in the 68th minute, leaving Clayton to rub the Cherries nose in another heavy defeat on the road in the 78th minute. Huddersfield Town 7th, AFC Bournemouth 11th.

Newly promoted Yeovil Town look as if they're having a harder time as they came up against Derby County at Huish Park with the East Midlands side running out 3-0 winners as Russell (42nd min), Bryson (45th min) and Martin (58th min) did the business to seal the win. Yeovil Town 19th, Derby County 8th.

Brighton & Hove Albion managed to give their home fans something to cheer at The Amex as the Seagulls ran out 2-0 winners over Burnley. Crofts (28th min) and Ulloa (72nd min) scored the goals to seal the win. Brighton & Hove Albion 10th, Burnley 9th.

Blackburn Rovers claimed their first win of the season in style, as they left Barnsley still looking for their first win of the campaign, even though the Tykes took the lead in the 13th minute. But that's as good as it got as goals from Cairney (17th min), Rhodes (30th & 39th mins), King (43rd min) and Kane (58th min) turned the game around completely, leaving Cywka the job of bagging a consolation in the 72nd minute. Blackburn Rovers 14th, Barnsley 24th.

The only other game played on Saturday came at Hillsborough as Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall played out a 2-2 draw. Zayette put the Londoners ahead by putting past his own keeper in the 5th minute. Red faces were saved 2 minutes later when Johnson levelled with Helan putting the Owls ahead in the 21st minute. A Keogh penalty levelled scores with 3 minutes left on the watch to secure the first point for the side from SE London. Sheffield Wednesday 20th, Millwall 23rd.

There was one other match, but it was abandoned at The Valley as Charlton Athletic faced Doncaster Rovers. The home side will be relieved, while Donny will be mightily hacked off as the visitors were 3-1 up at the time proceeding were halted. Donny had gone ahead in the 2nd minute through Keegan, with Brown extending the advantage in the 18th and 23rd minutes. Church got one back for the Addicks in the 36th minute before the match was abandoned at half time due to a waterlogged pitch. Charlton Athletic 22nd, Doncaster Rovers 15th.

Watford (6th) and Nottingham Forest (4th) play each other on Sunday, as do Wigan Athletic (13th) and Middlesbrough (16th).
