AFC Bournemouth are now clear leaders at the top of the table following an emphatic 6-1 away from home against struggling Blackpool at Bloomfield Road. Ritchie got the Cherries off the mark in the 18th minute, with Wilson (42nd min) doubling the advantage, before Ritchie bagged his second just before the hour mark. Delfouneso gave the home side a glimour in the 65th minute before Pitman (67th min pen), Pugh (73rd min) and Arter (76th min) made more than sure that the points were heading south! Blackpool 24th, AFC Bournemouth 1st.

The gap at the top was opened courtesy of Ipswich Town beating Middlesbrough 2-0 at Portman Road. Murphy gave the home side the lead in the 25th minute, with Tabb doubling the advantage on the stroke of half time. Ipswich Town 2nd, Middlesbrough 4th.

The remarkable run Brentford are on shows no sign of easing up as they managed to edge past Cardiff City in South Wales. Goals from Pritchard (11th min), Gray (22nd min) and Ramallo (33rd min) did the damage before Noone (48th min) and Jones (75th min) almost provided the catalyst for a great comeback - but it wasn't quite enough. Cardiff City 11th, Brentford 3rd.

Derby County had to settle for a point against Norwich City at the iPro Stadium. Russell got the Rams off the mark int he 43rd minute, with Jerome levelling 6 minutes after the break. A Martin penalty swung the game back in Derby's favour before Whitakker levelled for the Canaries in the 89th minute. Derby County 5th, Norwich City 7th.

Watford managed to overcome Reading at the Madj Stad with a single goal win, courtesy of an Abdi strike in the 70th minute. That despite being reduced to 10-men on the stroke of half time. Reading 17th, Watford 6th.

Two early goals from Rhodes (6th and 19th mins) sealed the points for Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park against Charlton AthleticBlackburn Rovers 8th, Charlton Athletic 12th.

Nottingham Forest and Leeds United had to settle for a point each at The City Ground as a Fryatt goal on the stroke of half time was cancelled out 9 minutes after the break by Sharp. Nottingham Forest 9th, Leeds United 18th.

Wolves left it late to salvage a point against 10-man Brighton & Hove Albion at Molineux. Bent gave the Seagulls the lead in the 10th minute before Batth claimed a share of the points in the 88th minute - that after Bruno had seen red for the visitors in the 58th minute. Wolves 10th, Brighton & Hove Albion 22nd.

Fulham proved to be too much for Sheffield Wednesday at Craven Cottage as the home side ran out 4-0 winners. Goals from McCormack (34th min), Hutchinson (45th min), Christensen (67th min) and Woodrow (93rd min) sealed the points for the Londoners. Fulham 13th, Sheffield Wednesday 14th.

Birmingham City continued their recent improvement with a decent 1-0 away win over Huddersfield Town at the John Smiths Stadium. Cotterill scored the only goal of the game in the 70th minute to seal victory. Huddersfield Town 20th, Birmingham City 15th.

Bolton Wanderers also continued their recent revival with a 1-0 win over Millwall at The Den. Pratley scored the only goal of the game to seal victory for the Trotters. Millwall 21st, Bolton Wanderers 16th.

Finally a relegation 6-pointer was played out at the DW Stadium as Rotherham United pinched the points from Wigan Athletic on their own patch. Lawrence gave the Millers the lead in the 40th minute, only to see Watson level in the 64th minute. Revell scored what proved to be teh winner a minute later to leave the Latics deep in trouble. Wigan Athletic 23rd, Rotherham United 19th.
