Burnley managed to claim an all important win to leap frog back to the top of the table with a 2-1 win over Blackpool at Turf Moor. Ings put the Clarets ahead in the 7th minute, which drew a response from Cathcart in the 24th minute. The winner came just after the restart when Arfield bagged the winner to send Burnley top. Burnley 1st, Blackpool 10th.

There was a top-of-the-table clash at Loftus Road as Queens Park Rangers faced Leicester City in the lunchtime kick off. The only goal of the game came in the 41st minute when Vardy bagged the winner to dent QPRs unbeaten home record. A misersable day in west London was compounded when Barton was sent off for two quick yellow cards - both in the 84th minute. Queens Park Rangers 2nd, Leicester City 3rd.

Derby County edge closer to the automatic promotion places as the Rams secured a decent 3-1 win over Doncaster Rovers at the iPro Stadium. Ward and Dawkins gave the home side a 2-goal cushion with strikes in the 13th and 50th minutes. Buxton put past his own keeper in the 64th minute to give Donny hope, but any dreams of an equaliser were snuffed out when Bryson made it 3-1 with 12 minutes left on the clock. Derby County 4th, Doncaster Rovers 20th.

Leeds United (5th) were held (surprisingly) by lowly Barnsley (24th) in a 0-0 draw at Elland Road.

Reading slipped to a successive home defeat, this time Wigan Athletic were the victors at the Madj Stad. Quick fire goals from McCann (10th min) and Powell (12th min) gave the Latics a 2-goal cushion. Pogrebnyak pulled one back in the 68th minute, but that was as good as it got for the Royals. Reading 6th, Wigan Athletic 12th.

Birmingham City (16th) extended their recent undefeated run with a 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest (7th) at St Andrews. The same outcome was played out between Brighton & Hove Albion (8th) and Huddersfield Town (13th) at The Amex.

On a day of draws, another was played out at Portman Road as Ipswich Town and Watford couldn't be separated. McGoldrick gave the home side the lead from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute, only to see Deeney level in the 81st minute. Ipswich Town 9th, Watford 14th.

Blackburn Rovers managed to edge past Yeovil Town at Huish Park as Rhodes bagged the only goal of the game just before the hour mark to keep the Glovers deep in trouble. Yeovil Town 23rd, Blackburn Rovers 11th.

AFC Bournemouth managed to chalk up back to back away wins with a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. Goals from Ritchie (10th min) and Grabban (27th min) put the Cherries on their way with a solitary Maghome consolation for the home side in the 82nd minute. Sheffield Wednesday 22nd, AFC Bournemouth 15th.

Bolton Wanderers and Charlton Athletic had to settle for a share of the spoils at The Reebok. Kermorgant gave the Addicks the lead in the 11th minute, with McNaughton levelling just before the break. Bolton Wanderers 17th, Charlton Athletic 21st.
