Burnley managed to close the gap at the top with a narrow single goal victory over near neighbours, Bolton Wanderers, at The Reebok. A solitary Vokes goal in the 58th minute sealed a vital 3-points. Bolton Wanderers 19th, Burnley 2nd.

Derby County and Queens Park Rangers went head to head in the Monday night match which saw a goal from Eustace in the 20th minute seal victory for the Rams at the iPro Stadium. Derby County 4th, Queens Park Rangers 3rd.

Nottingham Forest moved to be a comfortable 8-points in to the play-off places as they eased their way to a 3-0 over Huddersfield Town at the John Smiths Stadium. Goals from Paterson (63rd & 82nd mins) and Henderson sealed victory. Huddersfield Town 14th, Nottingham Forest 5th.

Brighton & Hove Albion took on Leeds United at the Amex stadium where a 64th minute goal from Ulloa was the difference between the two sides as the Seagulls maintain the pressure on Reading for the final play-off place. Brighton & Hove Albion 7th, Leeds United 11th.

Wigan Athletic are also closing the gap on a play-off place, more so after a convincing victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. Goals from Maynard (31st and 38th minutes), plus a strike from Fortune (93rd min) sealed the points for the Latics. Sheffield Wednesday 17th, Wigan Athletic 9th.

Watford managed to seal a single goal victory over Birmingham City at St Andrews courtesy of a 33rd minute goal from Deeney. Watford 13th, Birmingham City 18th.

Finally for the midweek action was a relegation 6-pointer at Huish Park where Yeovil Town and Millwall drew 1-1. Ralls put the Glovers ahead in the 64th minute, with Morison levelling for the Lions in the 75th minute. Yeovil Town 24th, Millwall 21st.
