High flying Burnley were pegged to a 1-1 draw on the South Coast by AFC Bournemouth at Dean Court. The Cherries took the lead through Rantie in the 51st minute, but dreams of victory were snuffed out when Treacy levelled in the 67th minute. AFC Bournemouth 15th, Burnley 2nd.

Watford managed to edge Middlesbrough at Vicarage Road, leap frogging them in the table at the same time. Deeney scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 50th minute. Shortly afterwards both sides were reduced to 10-men when Diakite (52nd min) and Gibson (57th min) saw red. Watford 12th, Middlesbrough 14th.

Huddersfield Town also moved up the table following a 2-1 away win over Birmingham City at St Andrews. Norwood (10th min) and Clayton (60th min) gave the Terriers a 2-goal lead before Lee bagged a consolation in the 95th minute. Birmingham City 18th, Huddersfield Town 13th.

At the wrong end of the table, Millwall and Bolton Wanderers had to settle for a point at The Den. Jutkiewicz gave the Trotters the lead in the 15th minute, only for Woolford to salavage a point for the Lions with an 82nd minute strike. Millwall 21st, Bolton Wanderers 19th.

A brace of braces at the Keepmoat saw Doncaster Rovers and Barnsley share the spoils. Proschwitz have the Tykes the lead in the 27th minute, which drew a response from Coppinger who bagged his brace just before half time and 10 minutes after the break. Proschwitz completed his brace in the 89th minute to share the points - a result which doesn't help either side too much in their bid to avoid the drop. Doncaster Rovers 20th, Barnsley 23rd.

The only other League match played saw Ipswich Town (8th) draw 0-0 with Blackpool (16th) at Portman Road.

In the FA Cup, holders Wigan Athletic edged closer to a return to Wembley with a 2-1 win over Premiership Cardiff City at the City of Cardiff Stadium. McCann gave the Latics the lead in the 18th minute, with Campbell levelling in the 27th. Watson bagged what proved to be the winner in the 40th minute.

The all-Championship clash between Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
